How would you describe your style in 3 words, starting with S?
Simple, Sophisticated and Snug (can you tell I had to Google synonyms for “comfortable”!?)
Which woman/women has mostly inspired your style?
I am constantly inspired by different women’s style, so there’s definitely not one single person; be it on Instagram, out and about and then mainly when travelling (which I miss with all my heart).
Before you throw on your favorite sneakers, what is your morning routine?
I’m much more of a night owl than a morning person, so my mornings tend to be slow (which I love), but my routine never differs! I wake up pretty early and have breakfast with my husband (who makes the best eggs on toast imaginable!), I then take my dog, Forest, for a morning walk and we always grab a coffee on the way home. I then hop in the shower and listen to a podcast or reply to work related messages while I slowly do my skincare routine (which can be rather indulgent!!) and pop on some make-up. Finally, I open up my office, light a candle and am ready to start my day. The ULTIMATE creature of habit!!
What makes Superga one of your go-to sneakers?
I have worn Superga’s for as long as I can remember. I love everything about the brand; their amazing collaborations, their really fun collections and then, of course, their classic shoes which will just never ever not be in my wardrobe. Oh, and needless to say, I find them to be THE most comfortable sneaker which is why I never take them off!
What is your favorite look, accessory, or garment to wear with Superga sneakers?
High-waisted straight leg jeans, formal tailored trousers or, my standard, a flowy dresses. I love how Superga’s immediately add a casual, cool look.
Tell us about your first pair of Superga’s and how they made you feel?
My first pair of Superga’s were the white canvas platforms, which I still own (an upgraded version as I wore mine to the ground and it was yonks ago). I’ve always been a platform Superga-gal – they make me feel super casual yet also put together. That slightly elevated sneaker feel.
What was the inspiration behind the styles in your collection?
The inspiration was my brand and my readers; a bunch of like-minded women who love similar things to me. I wanted to design a collection that had something for everyone; from more paired-back nudes to super-loud platforms. I absolutely adore a simple outfit with statement shoes and this collection is exactly that, whilst still being really feminine, sophisticated and fun.
Which is your favourite piece from the collection and how would you style it?
That’s like asking me to pick a favourite child! I honestly can’t answer that so let’s do a rapid-fire answer on each pair
2790 KBT CANDYSTRIPE – with a flowy white linen dress
2750 KBT TAPE – with jeans and a plain white tee
2790 KBT ESPADRILLE – with my cropped white denims, a white cami and my leather jacket
2730 KBT LEOPARD PRINT – with black high-waited tailored trousers and a white tee.
Sneakers seem to be a staple in women’s wardrobe nowadays. How do you feel about combining classic outfits and audacious trends?
That is my favourite part about sneakers; I pair them with absolutely everything. Sometimes I’m not quite sure why I own any other shoe as they just are the perfect addition to any outfit. I challenge you to find an outfit that doesn’t look better with a pair of Superga’s!
When you hear the word Superga what is the first thing that comes to your mind?
Effortlessly cool. I think that’s the best summary of what I’ve always thought of when thinking of Superga, and even more so in the past few years where I have seen the brand do such amazing things. I feel incredibly honoured to be working in collaboration with them; a real ‘pinch me’ moment and, despite Covid making this a longer project that we expected, it’s been one that I have loved from start to finish and feel incredibly proud to finally be able to share.
